As you can see on the pictures below, my cast iron skillet is in a bad condition, with rust & dirt on it.

If you happen to have the same thing, start by cleaning the deep dirt using the oven cleaning spray.

Once you’ve made this step, put your cast iron into a plastic bag to make sure the product on its surface stays longer.

You have to do the same step every two days. Please note that in order to get the wanted result, you’ll have to be very patient & wait for a whole week to get rid of dirt. :)

Once you clearly see that the old dist is off your cast iron, wash it with hot water and a lot of soap.

Now time to clean up all this rust !

Soften your cast iron surface using spirit vinegar & hot watter. Wait for the mixture to be effective & allow it 30 minutes. Then, use your scouring pad to clean it up.

The scouring pad will help you get rid of rust. Please don’t rub too much.

Now that your cast iron skillet is clean, put it into the oven on 250 degrees and for 20 minutes. Then, raise the temperature to 550 degrees for 45 minutes.

Put off the cast iron off the oven and add a small amount of olive oil. Rub it slowly and then put some paper towels on the surface. The cast iron will absorb the olive oil filter.

You cast iron has to get rid of the fat. Put it again into the oven but this time, keep it turned off. Time 30 minutes.
