How to Make a Cupcake Wedding Dress

So I came across this great cupcake wedding dress recipe on Just a Sliver and Pinspired Creations blogs (who did an amazing work!!! )and wanted to share it with you as you can also prepare it for a birthday or any other special occasion!

To make the cupcakes, you’ll need

  • a package of Duncan Hines French Vanilla Cake mix
  • 1 package 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

To make the vanilla buttercream, you’ll need:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-4 teaspoons water

For the cupcake cake

  • 1 13″x19″ cake board
  • 22 cupcakes
  • 2 batches of the above vanilla buttercream recipe
  • Pearl or other white sprinkles
  • 3 strands of beads, pearls, or sequence (found at Michael’s)

First, preheat the oven to 350°. Line muffin tin with paper liners.

Put all the ingredients in a large bowl then use an electric mixer on low speed to mix them all. Increase to medium speed for 2 more minutes.

Use the mixture to fill muffin tins. They should be 3/4 full.

Bake for fifteen to eighteen minutes.

To prepare the frosting, mix the cream butter and cream cheese for about 3 minutes until the mixture becomes light and  smooth then add confectioners’ sugar. Add vanilla extract and water. Beat on medium speed for 5 minutes to make light and fluffy.

When the cupcakes are cool, lay them out as in the picture. Use a knife to spread a little bit of frosting on the bottom of each cupcake so they stick to the cake board.

Frost your cupcakes using a piping bag. The space between cupcakes should be filled, no vacant spots.

Sprinkle with pearl or white sprinkles. One at a time, place the strand of pearls at the “belt” of the dress.
