A Girl was bitten by a coyote in a Montreal Park

A young girl was bitten by a coyote early Saturday night in a park in northern Montreal.

The Police Department of the City of Montreal confirmed that a call on this matter was received at 911 at 18:30.

The incident occurred at Swallows Park in Ahuntsic.

The child, who was wounded slightly in one leg, was taken to the hospital by her father, said Jean-Pierre Brabant, SPVM, adding that the event was reported to the City of Montreal, which manages this kind of file.

According to witnesses that were interviewed by the police, the coyote was frightened, ran and bit the girl in flight.

The patrolmen tried to locate the animal but to no avail.
