DIY Scandinavian Snack Cake

Whether it is a birthday, a party, a family gathering or friends gathering, this delicious Scandinavian snack cake should be on your table. It’s very simple to make and tastes very good, trust me! The ingredients that you will need to make this yummy cake are the following:

  • 2-3 round loaf of white bread
  • 600 g cottage cheese
  • 400 g fat sour cream
  • 3-4 Tbs of mayonnaise
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs
  • 250-300 g smoked salmon
  • 1 green onions, a little bit of dill and cream as needed.

To decorate the top of the cake you will need:

  • boiled shrimp large
  • sliced smoked or salted salmon
  • 4-5 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1-2 cucumber, some dill and some parsley

How to do it:

Cut thin circles out of the bread (I used 6 circles for my cake.) Then prepare the cream by placing cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and dill in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Stir to combine. After mixing well for several minutes, leave some cream to be used later to decorate the cake. For the remaining cream, you will need to add to it well chopped eggs and onions and then mix them altogether. After there are well mixed, add the smoked salmon and mix again. Start to spread the prepared cream on each of the bread circles you’ve cut at the beginning. Put each piece of bread on top of the other and continue spreading the cream (don’t forget to spread it on the sides of the cake as well as shown in the picture). Now that you have your cake covered with the cream, you may want to start the decoration. Cut the eggs into slices and place them on top of the cake, and in the middle put some shrimps and some salmon. After you are done with the top, cut cucumber into slices as well and start decorating the sides of your cake. Your Scandinavian cake is ready! Bon appetite!
