DIY: Watermelon Cake

My family and I are really big fans of watermelon. Especially my 2 little kids, they eat it all the time. So while I was doing recently some research on the internet for new cake recipes I came across this watermelon cake recipe. When last week I made this awesome watermelon cake, my family were surprised and my two little kids were so happy. So if you’re also keen on watermelon shape-like cakes or you’re just looking for some new ideas to make some really yummy and stylish cakes here is your recipe for that.

Ingredients:

Half cup plus 2 tablespoons miniature semisweet chocolate chips

1 container Betty Crockerâ„¢ Whipped fluffy white frosting

1 box Betty Crockerâ„¢ SuperMoistâ„¢ white cake mix

1 package (0.13 oz) cherry-flavored or other red-colored unsweetened soft drink mix

Green and red food colors

2/3 cup green jelly beans

As for the instructions, here you go:

First thing you need to do is preheat your oven to 350°F. Then make your cake as directed on the box.

Take one tablespoon out of the cake mix and add 1/2 chocolate chips to it.

After that add water, oil, egg whites and drink mix to the remaining cake mix and whisk in a large bowl. Add he 1/2 cup chocolate chips and pour batter evenly into 2 round cake pans.

Bake as directed on box and then let cool before assembling and frosting.

Divide frosting into 2 bowls and add 10/12 drops of red food colour to a larger bowl of the frosting and another 10/12 drops of green food colour to a smaller bowl of frosting. Stir thoroughly!

Start with the green frosting to frost the sides of the cake then press gently your green jelly beans. After that start frosting the surface of the cake with red frosting.

Now it’s time to give your watermelon some seeds. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips to do that.

Voila, you watermelon cake is ready! Enjoy :D
