How to organize your closet : What to hang VS what to fold
You have always dreamed of having a neat and orderly wardrobe and you thought (and still think) that the best way to achieve that, is to hang every single item? Well, it is certainly easier but what if you don’t have enough hanging space? Plus, certain things actually benefit from being folded. Therefore, to stop the confusion, here’s a list of clothes to hang vs clothes to fold! And keep in mind that smart storage will keep you and your clothes looking good!
Things to hang:
Skirts:
Make sure to use hangers with little clips to hang these.
Blouses:
Don’t forget to button up your blouse to keep the collar in shape.
Dresses:
Keep in mind that silk dresses should be hung on a padded hanger.
Scarves:
Scarves should be folded in half and hung over the hanger.
Trousers:
Your trousers should be hung on hanger clips.
Jackets and coats:
Jackets and coats are obviously to be hung. Moreover, you should also use a curved suit hanger.
Things to fold:
Jeans:
You can easily fold your jeans. Denim is a durable fabric that won’t crease if folded.
Bras and underwear:
You obviously already know that ( or we hope you do) but your everyday bras and underwear should be stored in a drawer.
T shirts:
T shirts can get stretched out if hung so make sure to fold them.
Knitwear:
Just like denim, knits don’t wrinkle so you are safe folding them.
Embellished tops or gowns:
If your embellished tops or gowns are heavy then you probably should fold them since they can get distorted. But make sure to wrap them in tissue paper for extra protection.
