DIY: Cute Strawberry Cake
Are you tired of making the same cake every time you have a family gathering or a friends party? Are you looking for easy but unique recipes to make a cake that all you friends and family will find amazing? Well, I think I’ve got the best recipe for you. This recipe is about making a cute strawberry shaped cake. The good thing about this cake is that it is not just shaped like a strawberry but it does actually contain some fresh strawberries inside it. Isn’t that awesome!! I am sure by now you are asking for the recipe. Well there you go, here are the ingredients:
1) 2 Betty Crocker Pound Cake Mixes
2) Butter, eggs, and water (or milk) needed for cake mix
3) 2 tubs Betty Crocker Whipped White Frosting
4) 1 (8 ounce) tub frozen whipped topping, thawed
5) 1 1/2 pounds strawberries, wiped clean with a damp paper towel
6) 36 ounces red fondant
7) 4 ounces green fondant
8) Black food coloring marker
Here are the instructions as well:
The first thing you need to do is to preheat your oven to 350ºF.
Use a non-stick cooking to spray four heart-shaped pans and then line with parchment paper.
Follow package instructions to make cake mixture then equally divide batter among four heart-shaped pans.
Place the pans in the oven to bake for 20-25 min! Make sure it’s baked by inserting a toothpick.
Take out the oven and let cool, then trim the edges as shown in the picture.
Place one cake on a heart-shaped piece of cardboard and cut 6-inch hearts out of two of the other cake layers.
Mix frosting and whipped topping together then use a zip top or piping bag to spread the frosting around the edges of the cake layers.
Now hide your strawberries in the heart-shaped hole. Then you have to attach the final layer with some frosting in the middle.
Frost your cake before you cover it with red fondant. After you cover the whole cake with red fondant now it’s time to make some green leaves.
Get creative and try to cut leaves out of your green fondant (trust me it’s easy).
Using the black food coloring marker draw some dots to give your cake a more original look.
Don’t tell your guests what’s inside your cake when you want to serve it. Let them be surprised, that’s what I did to my friends and they all liked it.
