Honeycomb Sugar Cookie Recipe
This recipe I came across on abeautifulmess is unique , simple to make , tasty and original! So I had to share it with you!
In order for you to make the honeycomb sugar cookie you will need :
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
Cream together the butter and sugar . Blend together for 1mn until sugar breaks down into the mixture and its color lighten.
Next stir in the egg and vanilla extract until combined. Then, stir in the flour, salt, and baking powder until crumbly ball forms.
Press and form a cohesive ball from the dough , cover it in a plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least 1 hour or overnight.
Once the dough is chilled , roll out on a lightly floured surface then cut out your cookies shapes and place on a baking sheet lined with a parchement paper.
Bake your cookies in the oven for 10mns at 400° F
After removing them from oven , place them on a cooling rack . Add frosting after they fully cool!
Concerning the royal frosting you will need :
- 6 teaspoons meringue powder
- 6 tablespoons water
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- small squeeze of lemon juice
- food coloring
Begin by whisking together the meringue powder and water. Squeeze just a little lemon juice . Sift the powdered sugar before adding for a super smooth frosting. Whisk to combine.
Divide the frosting into three different containers and add food coloring to match your butter cream frosting outlines.
Finally, pour royal frosting on your cookies and enjoy the output.
